Leah Smithson x Angel City Brewery: Live Interactive Mural
I’ll be doing a live painting in connection with Angel City Brewery on May 26 during their Annual Heritage Festival. Much of my artwork is related to finding beauty among chaos. One way we can do this is by letting go of things we can’t control so we can put our energy towards things we can. In connection with this mission, this mural will be interactive.
The first 150 people that come to the event will be able to take an egg filled with pigment and write their latest concern, failure, or worry on the egg and at a scheduled time, we will all throw our eggs against the wall of the mural. So together we will put away all of those frustrations and make something beautiful out of it as I’ll incorporate the colored pigment thrown at the wall into the design of the mural.
There will also be a live band, great food and other surprises. Hope to see you there!

A PIGMENT WHICH BREATHS
It was an honor when The 4bearance commissioned me to create the 2nd element. Jeth tried on the first prototype. The combination of the additives in the air and Violet’s terror created a dangerous toxin. We crafted an image of Anali pictured in The Euphonic on the fabric. Jeth covered his face and breathed in the scent harvested from Chaen’s flower. The pigmentation had been created and mixed with those soft petals. The dye hadn’t quite dried yet, so he was able to absorb the sweet odor which stimulated his brain synapse. The more of these we can get out, the greater impact this would have on the populace, because even though these scarves protect the wearer, the mind stirring effect is felt by those around him as well.

A LOVING STUPOR
Again, as the vehicles pass by, their smoke is released in the air. Then Chûndra’s new poison sprinkles down like snow flurries. However we hadn’t counted on how quickly this spread had become. We all watch from afar as her next victim’s stare becomes glazed over. What can we do now? If we storm into Chûndra’s palace again, it’s not like it will fix anything. The Sufna formula has already been shipped off all over the world. If we approach the petroleum companies, they’ll laugh in our faces. By the time we prove what effect the additive Chûndra gave them has on people, it will be too late. Besides, by now they’re probably being controlled by her anyway. We’re going to have to figure out how to negate the effects of her ingredient ourselves.
In the meantime, we’ve been hearing that Violet started to take on new features which Chûndra is finding difficult to control.

DELIQUESCE
Chûndra walks into her palace after an inspection of the damage The 4bearance had caused to her lab. Losing Anali’s parents…was it infuriating or terrifying her? Maybe both. There was no way of knowing how much of her secrets they were able to pick up in their coma-like state. Besides, she had to figure out how 4bear was able to weaken her Crown’s powers.
She begins to sense a disturbance in the palace. Suddenly, she smells something putrid in her dining area. The stench became stronger and more bitter as she turned the corner. As her eyes met the source of the smell, she fell to the ground. This was something she wasn’t prepared for. A deformed and mangled body had been placed at the bottom of the dining room’s stairway. She gets closer, then reels back as she realizes that these had been the garments of the woman who was like a daughter to her, her apprentice Kalese. The flies had already began buzzing quite nosily now. Chûndra’s body began to tense up as her shock dissolved into curiosity. She knew this couldn’t have been the work of the 4bearance. They didn’t have it in them to do something so vicious. The scene which lain before her was evidence of someone who’d taken their time. But who’d dare do something so horrible?
