…For Old Time Sake

Hi Everyone,

Thinking of the Ishan Project last year, I wanted to share something with you for old time sake 😛

Untitled
THE BIRDS, THE SOWER AND THE DISTURBING ALGORITHM
The Hummingbirds drop her from a high vantage point in order for her tendrils to be able to  split through the atmosphere and dense layers of radioactive waves referred to as the Algorithm. As she transitions downward, she feels the wavelength’s radiation trying to attach itself to her small frame.  It begins to suck at her skin like tiny leeches.
Many of the flowers that feed remained in bloom despite Chûndra’s disturbance, but now it’s become apparent she’s using a new deterrent. This is the wavelength we’ve identified.  The Birds’ refer to it as ‘The Disturbing Algorithm.’ It’s effects settle like a dense fog over an individual’s psyche. Impressing into one’s mind the damaging state of inactivity.  Too many victims have already fallen prey to it’s effects. And that’s why it was necessary for us to take counter action. After further discussion we all agreed The Sower would be used to combat this new weapon.
As she lowers in her descent, she hears a loud flapping somewhere in the distance. This flapping is followed by a hysterical laughter that can only originate from Cherry. It’s obvious that The BirdFace Crew has pinpointed her location. Cherry begins to beat his wings harder now that he’s found her. This cannot be good.

Update Regarding The Wearable Art Project + Your Opinion

Two weeks have now gone by and we are in the final days of the Wearable Art of a Forgotten Species Project. I just wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate all of your support. This Kickstarter Project can not be accomplished on it’s own. So it’s kind supporters like each of you who keep this project moving forward. With less than 12 days left, this project has been an absolute pleasure to include you all in on.

The Launch Party was an absolute success! Thanks go to all of you who were able to attend (or who were there in spirit as well). The models looked so good and it was a pleasure seeing everyone try on the different fabrics.  You guys looked amazing!

I wanted to show you a few photos from our show last week which have prompted some of these hand painted scarves up close. Each painting is framed and created individually by the 4Bearance team, so every one is unique and one of a kind. They have been cast from antique frames dated some 80-130 years back. If one of these paintings catch your attention shoot me a link and lets see if we can work out a special offer. Thanks for your time today. I’m truly grateful for all of your support. I hope to have one of these lovely heirlooms wrapped softly around your neck soon. Until then, Resist + Remember.

I also wanted to hear your feedback on what areas you feel the Project could be improved. For instance, do you feel that I should include another garment i.e. t-shirts?  I look forward to hearing back from you.

Best,

Leah

Wearable Art That Restores Knowledge of a Forgotten Species Kickstarter

Hi guys,

I hope you all have been doing fine. Summer’s warming up but the Fall Seasons slowly rearing it’s head as we get closer to the September – October months.

Saying all of that, I just wanted to give you a reminder of the Kickstarter I’ll be launching tomorrow morning.  It’s entitled: Wearable Art that Restores Knowledge of a Forgotten Race- The Relics of The Ishan Project.  Throughout this past year we’ve discussed several Relics in our Tale of Two Species. Now I’m so proud to show you a sneak peek into the Finished Product of these scarves I’m releasing in the morning.

And to culminate this entire process, The Kickstarter will be featured on National TV on KOVR’s Good Day Sacramento by Amy Carraba! I’m excited, nervous and so pleased all at once.  I can’t wait to show everyone these fashionable scarves. And even more so, I really anticipate seeing all of you with one wrapped delicately around your neck or placed in a side or back pocket. We also have the option to frame them if you like as well since each will be a unique piece of artwork.  There’s plenty of other goodies we have in addition, including scarves, prints, pocket squares and limited original paintings done throughout the year.   Here’s a few pics of the process involved with these beauties… Resist + Remember.

Some FAQs’ on Kickstarter

us

Hi guys I just wanted to share a few FAQs’ some have asked me recently about Kickstarters and crowdfunding. Hope this answers some. Many were taken directly from Kickstarter.com. I added a few regarding my current project. And if you have any more, don’t hesitate to ask:)

What is Kickstarter?

Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects. Everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. Kickstarter is full of ambitious, innovative, and imaginative projects that are brought to life through the direct support of people like you!

Since their launch on April 28, 2009, over $1 billion has been pledged by more than 5 million people, funding more than 60,000 creative projects.

How does Kickstarter work?

Thousands of projects are funding on Kickstarter at any given moment. Each project is independently created and crafted by the person behind it. The filmmakers, musicians, artists, and designers you see on Kickstarter have complete control and responsibility over their projects. They spend weeks building their project pages, shooting their videos, and brainstorming what rewards to offer backers. When they’re ready, creators launch their project and share it with their community.

Every project creator sets their project’s funding goal and deadline. If people like the project, they can pledge money to make it happen. If the project succeeds in reaching its funding goal, all backers’ credit cards are charged when time expires. If the project falls short, no one is charged. Funding on Kickstarter is all-or-nothing.

All-or-nothing funding is a core part of Kickstarter and it has a number of advantages:

It’s less risk for everyone. If you need $5,000, it’s tough having $1,000 and a bunch of people expecting you to complete a $5,000 project.

It motivates. If people want to see a project come to life, they’re going to spread the word.

It works. Of the projects that have reached 20% of their funding goal, 81% were successfully funded. Of the projects that have reached 60% of their funding goal, 98% were successfully funded. Projects either make their goal or find little support. There’s little in-between.

To date, an incredible 44% of projects have reached their funding goals.

Why is funding all-or-nothing?

Why do people back projects?

Many backers are rallying around their friends’ projects. Some are supporting a new effort from someone they’ve long admired. Some are just inspired by a new idea, while others are motivated to pledge by a project’s rewards — a copy of what’s being produced, a limited edition, or a custom experience related to the project.

Backing a project is more than just pledging funds to a creator. It’s pledging your support to a creative idea that you want to see exist in the world.

Where do backers come from?

In most cases, the majority of funding initially comes from the fans and friends of each project. If they like it, they’ll spread the word to their friends, and so on. Press, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and Kickstarter itself are also big sources of traffic and pledges. Altogether, millions of people visit Kickstarter every week.

What do backers get in return?

Backers that support a project on Kickstarter get an inside look at the creative process, and help that project come to life. They also get to choose from a variety of unique rewards offered by the project creator. Rewards vary from project to project, but often include a copy of what is being produced (CD, DVD, book, etc.) or an experience unique to the project.

Project creators keep 100% ownership of their work, and Kickstarter cannot be used to offer equity, financial returns, or to solicit loans.

How do backers know if a project will follow through?

Launching a Kickstarter is a very public act, and creators put their reputations at risk when they do.

Backers should look for creators who share a clear plan for how their project will be completed and who have a history of doing so. Creators are encouraged to share links and as much background information as possible so backers can make informed decisions about the projects they support.

If a creator has no demonstrable experience in doing something like their project or doesn’t share key information, backers should take that into consideration. Does the creator include links to any websites that show work related to the project, or past projects? Does the creator appear in the video? Have they connected via Facebook?

Don’t hesitate to request information from a creator. You can always reach out before pledging via the “Contact me” button on the project page.

How do I know a project creator is who they claim they are?

Perhaps you know the project creator, or you heard about the project from a trusted source.Maybe they have a first-person video. That would be hard to fake. “Is it really U2?!” Well, it is if Bono’s talking about the project.Still not sure? Check the creator bio section on the project page for some background. Have they connected their Facebook account? Does the creator provide links for further verification? In the creator’s full bio, look for the verified name, next to a check mark. This person is the creator of the project or a part of the company or team behind it, and they verified their identity through an automated process. The name appears for projects that have launched since May 19, 2014.

The web is an invaluable resource for learning more about a person. At the end of the day, you can use your internet street smarts.

When are backers charged?

After the Kickstarter meets it’s goals, Amazon.com will charge the credit card on file and send the backer a receipt via email.

Hope this explains some things. Look forward to the months activity and seeing everyone at the show Saturday July 26th. In the meantime Resist + Remember. 20140718-180931-65371456.jpg

What’s In a Name? Underpainting + The Countdown

Some have been wanting to see ‘behind the scenes’ of some of the paintings I’ve been working on. Here’s the sketch and underpainting of one of the pieces I’m currently working on getting ready for the upcoming show July 25 – 27, 2014.

I’m depicting an Ishan woman as she’s leapt into part of the atmosphere where the birds usually fly. She never revealed her name, so I have to give her one in this portrait. What do you all think a good name would be?

Oh, and this is Day 13 before the official Launch of Wearable Art That Restores Knowledge of a Forgotten Species Kickstarter.

The RELIC That Saved The World & The SUN EATERS

RelicSunEaters

I’ve been working with the 4bearance in getting out more scarves that have been painted with the dye from the Flower that Feeds. We’ve recently noticed that when coupled with Sun Eaters collected from Chûndra’s bioengineered bird that we captured, The flowers anti-vapor effect is much, much stronger. In fact, after being charged with light, you can see their power radiate when dark.

Here are a few pictures of these relics on some of our members of the 4bearance. We will have more information about their availability to everyone very soon. In the meantime don’t forget.

The 4th Element has Spoken

Looks like we have a winner!! Congratulations Anitra! #2 Won. Thanks to everyone also who’ve participated! These series of scarves will be released in an upcoming ‪#‎Kickstarter‬. For those of you who didn’t win this time don’t fret, I have all sorts of surprises for you coming soon. But for now, thank you 4th Element for helping forge our instrument of combat to halt Chûndra’s Vapor. Resist and Remember

The Show and Your Opinion

Blank 19 copy

During the Ishan Project we discussed The Elements which combated Chûndra’s influence over mankind. Two of which are The Scarves (which fragrance clarified the minds of the wearer as well as those in the vicinity) and The 4th Element (You The Observer).

Now we find ourselves at a unique point in our story. Soon I’ll be bringing the project live to the streets of San Francisco in the form of an Art Show.  But first I’d love to hear your opinion. I’ve been playing with the idea of creating a series of scarves which will have one of the daily paintings of this series blended and painted on it’s surface. Which of the three would you vote to see featured? Saturday, April 26, of next week, I will be randomly selecting the name of one of the commenters to send a free print of the winning piece. All who’ve also shared or tweeted this post will also be given two opportunities instead of one. The winner will also be mentioned on my blog at www.leahsmithson.com/blog.html.  I’m really looking forward to hearing from you and I invite you to sign up for my newsletter at: http://www.leahsmithson.com/ishan-project.html. ANEW

When the ground shook we all ran towards its source. We climbed the stairway and immediately saw Chûndra sitting in Netra’s chair. This explained the sudden movement of the ground. The magnetism she received dripped from her body like wet paint as she gripped the arms of the chair. She now understood the full nature of the Ishan’s powers, she could even feel her potential growing bright deep within her extremities. A Dark energy began pounding the ground. As she stood, her powers had reached their limits. She reaches out to strike 4bear with this new wave of electricity. As she began building momentum to release a sharp burst of energy, our ears began to ring. The only way I can describe it is as if 100,000 crystal bells were ringing all at once. We close our eyes as she released the massive ball of energy into our direction. All we could do was wait for the impact. There was no where to run.

At that moment, Rïden steps in front of us. He firmly fixes his gaze on the sphere of impending doom. Just as I hear the sizzle of Anali’s hair, I ,ever so slightly, opened one eye to find the ball suspended in mid air. Rïden was countering Chûndra with his control over her newfound powers. After all, they came from him.

Meanwhile, Netra and Aram make eye contact with The Forecaster. Immediately, he recognizes them. Although he and Chûndra had been outnumbered, his aim would offset any deficiency they encountered. He touches the scar on his face which was the painful reminder of the loss he had experienced. Then, in a fluid movement, he reaches back for his quiver, and his hood falls backwards. Instantly Olam Ra recognizes this face. “It’s YOU!” He screams. This shakes The Forecaster, but only briefly. He’d been waiting for this opportunity for too long. These two would be pinned properly. As he pulls the arrow back, Rïden and Koyu begin readying themselves for battle.

Chûndra just getting over the shock of her defeat, abruptly stops him. She says. “We’ve worked to hard to lose our senses. This is a losing battle. We need time to build our infrastructure. There will be other opportunities. Don’t worry.”

As they cautiously pace backwards, somehow Chûndra manipulates their cellular structure as a spiraling cloud wraps around them. Anali calls out to her, “Wait. It doesn’t have to end like this. We understand that you have gone through hardships. Better decisions should have been made. Why don’t we try to work it out?” Chûndra’s eyes peeked through the smoke, looking longingly at the family she never had. Then, something like lightning strikes the air in the small room which creates a mysterious cloud that quickly makes them disappear.

Now that the danger has left our lair, we tracked through each room to take inventory of the furniture built from Rïden’s limbs. Even though it had been a close call, they didn’t make it out with any of the pieces as far as we could see. Evidently, Chûndra and The Forecaster had searched through various rooms to locate her crown. Their attempts had been futile, though.

Outside, Spring leaves sprouted early this year. Slowly the effects of the Chûndra’s Sufna vapor are lessening. Chaen’s flowers pulsate to the same rhythm of the Ishan’s limbs. We propagated Chaen’s flowers with the blossom from Rïden’s furniture.

True birds that fly high have aided in this renewal as our atmosphere improves as well. Since spring is close, they will have the help of all of the insects and animals that naturally help with pollination. Then all plants will soon have the capacity to filter the air from Sufna. This coupled with our scarves has greatly strengthened the healing power of the flowers that feed.

Looking back at the past 365 Days, so much has happened. As The 4th Element, you, the Observers, and 4bear have managed to keep the world from total submergence under Chûndra’s Vapor. Thank you. Even though we have won the battle, we still have our work cut out in order to win this war. Opportunities will present themselves. Stay tuned. Don’t forget. Resist + Remember.

TREMOR

Violet met her end. This meant Chûndra’s palace no longer was under her control, but we can’t just let Chûndra back into her palace. Even though we all hope that the knowledge of  Anali and her parents as  her family will cause her heart to open a little so she stops all the madness, we still can’t trust her. Her greed is too ferocious of an appetite.

We were discussing how we should deal with her as we returned. Preet had been left behind to patrol Chûndra while she lay dormant in her cell. As Koyu went in to check on her, he found Preet entirely unconscious. Somehow Chûndra managed to escape.  As Aram looked closer, she noticed several splintered arrows which pierced the deadbolt locks.  She would recognize those arrows anywhere. They were the same ones that took the life of her brother.

“The Forecaster? Where does he come from anyway?” asked Jess.

“He’s a mysterious creature. All we know is that he is Ishan, but we haven’t figured out his story yet,” Rïden explained.

At that moment, Netra heard a low tapping in the distance. “That’s right! Chûndra wouldn’t leave here without her crown. And what if she gets her hand on Rïden’s furniture?!” At that moment, the ground began to shake…

HARVEST

Violet sensed them coming as they lurked through the dense woods. Her tiny larvae formed a unique pattern above her which channeled their energies. Violet and the Imposters had already caused terror to a surrounding town. Confusion, more lost memories, and uncertainty abounded. She would make sure Chûndra’s plans would be fully carried out. Enough lives seemed to have been taken. Yet, with the 4bearance approaching, they’d make tonight an exception. She crouches forward to once again gather the energy from her parasitic progeny, but something different was amidst.

Meanwhile, across from the palace, The 4bearance began to arrange the 4 elements. First, Rïden’s arms formed the bridge which traveled over the murky waters Violet poisoned. Koyu’s tree bark ignited a magnetic discharge which awakened the atrophied brain synapses of the Triton soldiers . One by one their minds expanded, and an awareness of their surroundings became a reality.

Netra carefully carried the 2nd element in her arms. As she gave a small charge to Chaen’s heart, it began pulsating and dispersing a fragrance which awakened the masses. Now, fully discharged and combined with the other 3, the potential of its potency would finally be realized.

But we couldn’t get overconfident. I personally crafted each scarf which carried the mixture of dye made from the petals of the Flowers that Feed. Violet still had the power to manipulate the air around us, so we’d need this 3rd Element wrapped around our necks and torso for protection. These fabricated extensions would also serve as deterrents to her agenda.

But each of you, yes you: The 4th Element, The Observer proved worthwhile to the Ishan and mankind. Many of your likes, shares and kind words generated a spark which couldn’t be ignored. You served as a protection. The reason being is that since so many have been alerted by this danger, many minds have not been overtaken by the threat because we all now know that this threat truly exists.

Violet hadn’t taken into consideration such an elaborated plan. The 4 Elements combined clouded the tiny insect’s communication center. Their focus changed as suddenly they no longer craved The Flowers that feed but rather Violet herself. She watched in disgust as The Impostor’s flight patterns became sluggish then hurriedly swarmed her body. Initially there was no pain felt. But then a sharp burst ignited and she felt their tiny limbs begin to harvest her small frame. As she breathed slowly for the last time, her mind wondered where her Queen had been this entire time. She only wanted to please her. How could she…

A GRADUAL TROUNCE

“I don’t get it,” Chûndra says as she turns to Netra from her cell’s window. “How is it that you became so powerful with Rïden’s branches but when I wore the crown made from Aram’s stems, I could never get as much power?”

“It’s love,” Netra replied.

“What does that mean?” Chûndra asked.

“Our bodies are made with flesh and blood but they are also composed of a chemical components. Whenever we feel emotion, that emotion is tangible, a biochemical.”

“I don’t understand how that’s related,” Chûndra retorts.

“When Rïden gave me his branches, he did it out of love. That love flowed through his limbs as he cut each piece with accuracy, which caused them to retain all of their magnetic capabilities.  So the energy captured in each branch that he used to assemble into many pieces of furniture, was extremely potent.”

“But how did I receive power from Aram?”

“Her love for her family and her willingness to sacrifice herself to keep her family’s cover from being blown is what helped her limbs retain some of their magnetism. But the feeling of pain flowed through her limbs. So the power retained in her stems under your torture and suffering could never be as strong. She could never give them to you wholeheartedly.”

As Chûndra quickly turned her eyes toward the window, I saw light refracted through some substance on her cheek. A tear, which she slyly used her shoulder to wipe away before anyone noticed.

Thanks so much for a great year!

It’s unbelievable how fast the year has flown by! So much has transpired and despite Chûndra’s brief takeover, it’s been an absolute pleasure creating these daily images and documenting their story. The 4bearance and I would sincerely like to give each and everyone of you a special thanks for all of your support. Now that we’ve entered the final phase of our year long tale the 4th Element will have an opportunity to dictate how this story will continue. THE CONSTANT

She stands proudly. It was all a front, though. We can see the terror in her eyes. Finally, the realization of what was happening must have started to click for her. Her counterfeit smile couldn’t mask the disappointment she felt. The world she spent centuries building was crumbling before her, but we are not fooled. Chûndra is not one to give up so easily. Right now she needs us. For some reason, she can’t handle Violet on her own. Violet is a person she recreated and gave power to. For Violet to turn on Chûndra, ripping away all of her power and taking away her throne, all of this has to be horribly embarrassing for Chûndra. Her hatred for Violet is much stronger than her hatred of 4bear. She needs us, so she’s using us. She takes us for granted, though. She won’t expect that we will be using her as well.

Defeated, she laughs and tells us, “You will never be able to stop her. Her symbiotic relationship with those insects has grown too strong. Her tiny ‘Impostors’, as you call them, are too powerful and cannot be stopped by anyone but her. ” And thus we realized what we needed to do to take down Violet and the Impostors.

ARC

When the glass burst, Chûndra sustained only minor injuries: a concussion, glass shrapnel abrasions and minor bruises were the only physical damages noticed. True Birds carried her back to our lair.  After a violent tantrum, 4bear managed to sustain her inside of four walls covered by tarp derived from the N-oid tincture. Her energies began to wain a bit. Yet, her powers were restoring, thanks to her crown.

She rolled the magnetic energy between her fingers, harnessing the power in her tiny cell. A smirk moved across her face she caught sight of Aram. Aram glared back at her, remembering the torture Chûndra put her and her family through. And all because of Chûndra’s greed for power. As Anali walks in the room, she notices their exchange. “Take her crown Aram,” Anali says, “After all, she stole it from you anyway, and we can’t afford for her to break free. The less power she has at this point, the better.”

“It would be my pleasure,” Aram replies warmly.

She enters the cell and instantly a sharp burst of negative energy strikes Aram in the chest. Chûndra begins to rise, but Aram is prepared. Her flowers pulsate rhythmically and the kinetic energy from Chûndra’s blast is reversed upon contact with Aram’s body. When the impact strikes, Chûndra’s body falls suddenly. Unaffected by this minor altercation, Aram reaches down and snatches the crown away from her. Then, she carefully steps over Chûndra’s body towards the exit.

She couldn’t help but look back at the cell’s glass fixture to find Chûndra glaring at her. Aram innocently smiles back at her. Even though we have secured Chûndra, the 4bearance and the rest of the world still has a major problem, in the shade of Violet, which needs to be resolved.

CROSSED

The 4bearance crossed over the vicious woods and found the trail to her palace.  As they grew nearer, Anali began feeling her sister’s presence. It was unusual, yet as she looked back on her life, things were beginning to make sense now.  No wonder they’d shared similar aspirations throughout their lives. As she gets nearer, she pulls back the adjacent tree’s limbs which gave a glimpse of the North wing. That’s when Chûndra looks out her window.  Despite the commotion around her, she immediately draws eye contact with Anali. It seems as though she felt a similar connection as well. Anali’s stomach turns a little bit as she remembers how well she knew Chûndra. So much so, she could read her body language, which was showing she’d become rather inpatient, pacing back and forth with her eyes fixed on Anali. As Chûndra made a fist, sparks from her magnetic charge begin spewing out.  Chûndra assumed 4bear would rescue her. Apparently she felt they weren’t moving fast enough. It was only right. She had, after all, been entitled to this sort of attention.

As the Sun reflected against the glass wall’s exterior, you could see the warped reflections held within. Under further scrutiny, we realized that Violet imprisoned her in the same glass Chûndra encased her parents in. Preet released the N-oid tincture. The dense smoke traveled across the moat and made contact with the glass. As Chûndra proceeded to step backwards, she taps her foot quickly and waits for the chemical to take it’s effect.

THE UNKNOWING

Olam Ra turns to Anali and continues, “We were going to let you know at the gathering the day she caused the Dark Sleep. Yet Chûndra managed to take over when the solar flare struck.

At birth, you two had different traits. Your features took more after your mother and I. Yet Chûndra’s resembled an ancient human ancestor of your mother. As a baby, her thighs had rough edges similar to our bark. Yet her extremities were more human like. So although you were twins, she took on human characteristics while you took all the Ishan ones.

Your mother and I adored you two. Yet we felt it would be more appropriate for her to be looked after by the scientist at the time. After all, he had already fallen in love with one of our own and his fascination with our magnetic properties had won our trust. Now looking back, I wish we would have done things differently.

Once you two met, we wondered if you’d catch on to your similarities. We were delighted when we saw you two getting along. We had intended on revealing this secret at that gathering. Unfortunately, we weren’t fast enough. Chûndra’s schemes have always gotten the better of her.”

SPECKLED SHADOW

The night’s moon sprinkles light onto the marble floors tonight. One of the Guardians hear a familiar voice over commotion in the distance, so he decides to inspect it further.  As he cautiously inches forward, he hears a clamored scratching and an eerie sound ahead.

As he turns the corner, he’s almost thrown backwards. For in front of him was the back of one of the largest birds he’d ever seen in person. This species had stood at an insurmountable nine feet. What was even more shocking was that Olam Ra had been speaking with him almost in a consolable fashion. This conversation proved odd. Even though he felt danger in the air, he knew he and everyone here were safe. As he stepped inside of the room the Bird’s neck turned a complete 180º. After it made eye contact with him, it hastily turned it’s attention back to Olam Ra.

RUSHED SILENCE

She couldn’t afford their suspicions getting in the way. Violet had noticed the birds flight pattern change. She had already overpowered the will of the Tritons and soon would have an edge over those humans Chûndra controlled.

But she noticed tonight that Birdface and his crew hadn’t quite been affected by her manipulation. This concerned her…but only temporarily. While Chûndra laid trapped in the north wing of her palace, she watched in defiance as Violet began to feed their curious appetites. The larvae struggled on their beaks as the desperate birds fed savagely. They hadn’t seen this many larvae in such an abundance and in one place. They began gulping the masses greedily as their hind feathers floated in the air from the constant movement. Unexpectedly, their squawking grew rather silent as Cherry fell over first. His limp body scurried rather wildly on its side, then…stillness.

As leader, Birdface had always been in the habit of watching his followers feed first before delving in. It wasn’t out of caution, he just enjoyed watching others consume. His patience proved fortunate tonight.

He would have to leave the remaining crew if he were to survive this incident. As Birdface gathered flight, he realizes he would need to have help with this Violet. She embraced her psychosis in an instinctive fashion he’d never encountered before. But who could he turn to for assistance?

CLIPPED WINGS

The moisture in the air ceased, but the Impostors remained active.  They no longer floated in the air wandering aimlessly. Violet’s control over them remained permanent. Using the same method she used to forge a biological connection to the Impostors, Violet managed to win absolute authority over the rest of the Tritons as well. Chûndra attempted to regain control over her Palace but failed miserably. “She’ll love me for this later. This is for her own good. Her resolve has become too weak and she needs me now. Even if she doesn’t realize it,” Violet thinks to herself. To “protect” her, Violet proceeds to lock Chûndra in the north wing of her palace.

As Violet sits on the throne, the Impostors’ larvae pulsated vibrantly around her extremities. She begins to realize that the only thing she hasn’t taken control of at this point is Chûndra’s crown.  This was not a good day for the Conformance. Confusion abounded.

 THE 4TH

Jess’ courage never failed despite her infirmities. Her efforts led us to the fourth and final Element.

We had scanned the petals from Chaen’s heart and noticed they pulsated rapidly once the Guardians and I brushed our skin against them. It was quiet interesting seeing their pulsations glow in the dark light cast by the moon’s shadow. But this experience would not have been possible without The 4th.

I felt a slight tremor in the air as we all realized it was all because of the Observers who have helped us propagate this seed. Yes, YOU. You’ve been reading this project’s story. With open minds you’ve come to understand our invisible enemy. You’ve supported us in this public awareness. And you’ve had a strong impact on weakening its influence by exposing it, every time you‘ve mentioned or shared this project with others. In a partnership, we’ve been able to actively fight Chûndra’s influence.  So yes, the fourth element was, is you: The Audience aka The Observers. This would serve as the final Element which could overthrow Chûndra’s agenda.

Through an analysis we will determine how all these pieces will fit together to form our cure.

GO

The Third Element was composed from Chaen’s Heart. The soft petals mixed wonderfully with the gouache paint but was also able to create a stimulating ripple in Chûndra’s plans throughout the year.  But once they combined with the three other core elements it would cause a catalyst which would stimulate the masses.

Although these positive effects happened, Netra couldn’t help but turn her back away from them. The water began to drip down her face and stained the scarf strapped around her torso. Memories from several years began flooding her memory. She struggled to control her emotions now realizing how close they’d become to the catalyst which would rip apart the Vapor’s influence.

A PIGMENT WHICH BREATHS

It was an honor when The 4bearance commissioned me to create the 2nd element. Jeth tried on the first prototype.  The combination of the additives in the air and Violet’s terror created a dangerous toxin. We crafted an image of Anali pictured in The Euphonic on the fabric. Jeth covered his face and breathed in the scent harvested from Chaen’s flower.  The pigmentation had been created and mixed with those soft petals. The dye hadn’t quite dried yet, so he was able to absorb the sweet odor which stimulated his brain synapse. The more of these we can get out, the greater impact this would have on the populace, because even though these scarves protect the wearer, the mind stirring effect is felt by those around him as well.

CORE ELEMENTS

The 4bearance’s foundation consists of 4 key members: Rïden, Netra, Koyu and Anali Q. Each member has perfected the use of their own unique energy soma. These energies would have to be harnessed in unison to stop Violet’s destruction. It’s evident now that she no longer is under Chûndra’s control but has gone rouge. The impostors no longer crawled over her but were now used as instruments or tools of terror.

Preet begins to reason with Rïden that he’d need to construct new elements that would help the True Birds’ cross pollination. This would be one of four core main ingredients in an effort to combat her deadly intent.

TRACKING SHADOWS

Violet’s insatiable appetite to please Chûndra caused her to become a monster she always feared. Aggressive, vicious, and instinctive: Her psyche was unstable now.  She tracks Chûndra’s movements as she sticks to the shadows.  She’d been following Chûndra’s activity for some time now. She now senses her Crown’s power wain.

“Now would be an excellent time to intervene,” Violet reasons.

A LOVING STUPOR

Again, as the vehicles pass by, their smoke is released in the air. Then Chûndra’s new poison sprinkles down like snow flurries. However we hadn’t counted on how quickly this spread had become. We all watch from afar as her next victim’s stare becomes glazed over. What can we do now? If we storm into Chûndra’s palace again, it’s not like it will fix anything. The Sufna formula has already been shipped off all over the world. If we approach the petroleum companies, they’ll laugh in our faces. By the time we prove what effect the additive Chûndra gave them has on people, it will be too late. Besides, by now they’re probably being controlled by her anyway. We’re going to have to figure out how to negate the effects of her ingredient ourselves.

In the meantime, we’ve been hearing that Violet started to take on new features which Chûndra is finding difficult to control.

A SCENT DORMANT

During the winter, most trees grow dormant.  However in California, it seems a flower is always in bloom. I thought of the irony of this as I walked outside today and saw the first bloom of a Pink Magnolia. We had gone through a dry spell which worried us, but now we feel the moisture in the air from the mist of a downpour from earlier today.

The first scent I inhaled struck me as sweet. Yet, this was short lived as a truck drove past me, snatching away the lingering sweetness in the air with Chûndra’s Vapor. Or at least that’s what we’re afraid of. We pulled our scarves over to help shield us from her influence. We found she was telling the truth. Evidently, she had been using several fueling agencies to disguise her secret additive. Now it’s hard not to be a little paranoid every time a vehicle drives by.

PURSUIT OF A RENEGADE

I have to apologize for Chûndra’s interference this past week. Somehow she managed to hack into various accounts through negative magnetic waves.  Thanks so much for your patience.

Take what she’s said with a grain of salt, however. Chûndra enjoys mixing truth with fallacy. Regardless of what she says, she didn’t allow us to commandeer our station back. The 4bearance and I captured it back with some struggle. One thing though which came to our attention did have a strong tie with the truth. Olam Ra has confessed to her being one of his descendants. We are still working out the details of how this has happened and why he decided to keep this information quiet.

Another portion of Chûndra’s deceit was how she downplayed Violet’s odd behavior. It seems as though things are a lot worse than what we realized. Her impostors have matured, and have somehow become responsible for the slaughter of a number of innocent civilians. Aram has been looking into finding a way to track her and the Impostor’s movements.  We’re not sure of what her end game is, but we’ll keep you posted.

HOWLING IN THE SHADOWS

Something has been happening in the palace today. I’ve noticed several Tritons howling in the shadows. I’ll be needing to take time to work out what’s happening in my household and thus will be relinquishing my hold on Leah’s social media, for now. I think that I pretty much have made my point, and despite all of the protest, I think you all are on my side. Even if you’re not, you won’t have a choice soon anyway. You will be hearing from me soon. Oh, and remember to breathe healthily. ~With Love, Chûndra Queen

A QUEEN UNMARKED

I noticed Violet’s strange disposition tonight. Her demeanor was very aggressive. She kept insisting I repeat to her in detail last night’s post and give more of a thorough explanation about my connection to Anali’s family. I don’t answer to anyone and least of all her. I am Queen. As I laughed in her face, I watched her turn away frustrated. So naive. I think she actually thought she could win my love. I already know how to love. I just don’t trust anyone. At least anyone I can’t control.

Interestingly enough, I’ve noticed several of my Tritons missing this week. Coincidence? I think not.~Chûndra

THINGS THAT SPARKLE

Where was I? Oh, right. Yes, so just in case you didn’t understand my post yesterday, I am saying Anali’s father is also my father. Now you see why I am saying that everything that girl has is actually mine. You also see why it is important for me to figure out how to get magneto-sensor powers from the Ishan. Those powers are wasted on them. My mother was half Ishan. My father is completely Ishan. That power is my birthright, and I know what to do with it.

All the pain and suffering of the ones I experimented on will not go to waste, including Aram. In fact, they should be honored to have been sacrificed for the sake of my plan, because it will lead to a better world. In the meantime, if I can’t have the power, I will control those that do. Thanks to Koyu and Rïden for waking the Ishan for me. I needed them awake. You see, I can appreciate others and admit my mistakes. But remember, I will not be denied power over them. ~ Chûndra

Bare Thought

BARE THOUGHT

Resistance is pointless. After tomorrow, the vapor will be shipped all over the world, and there’s nothing you can do about it. 4bear still doesn’t know how I have been administering it. Don’t worry, I have no reason to keep it a secret. I will just tell you. Then you will know how unprofitable resisting it will be.

Think. Besides food shelter, and clothing, what commodity does this world revolve around? I find it amazing how the ‘powers that be’ have caused this world to be dependent on something which is unnecessary for sustaining life, oil. In my studies of the Ishan’s branches, I found they have an amazing ability to not only cause amnesia by neutralizing brain cells, but there are properties in their branches that are very adept at neutralizing emissions as well. Marketing my vapor as an additive to gasoline companies was a perfect stratagem. People use gasoline everywhere, and wherever gasoline is used, my beautiful, peace giving Sufna formula will be dispersed. Oh, and Anali, please thank our father for making all this possible. ~ Queen Chûndra

A PECULIAR SHADE

Speaking of people I’m close to, you’re probably wondering why I would be close to Birdface, as he was responsible for assaulting my father. You see, my so-called father, that scientist, was in fact my stepfather, and a terrible one at that. The only reason he let me stay around after the death of my mother was because he promised her he would take care of me. He was so desperate to prove to her his worth, but every time he saw me, it was a reminder of how much he could never measure up. He was never worthy of her. He could never be. My mother and I were always going to be different, and better than he was. I challenge Anali to ask her parents who my father was.

Leah’s story about how Birdface took revenge on my stepfather was a bit twisted. I guess she tried. She should have come to the sources. Is she scared or something? We don’t bite…we’ll at least, I don’t. Who knows what that girl is thinking. Well, Birdface did retaliate against the scientist, but he was trying to protect me. My stepfather became bitterly jealous with me, especially when he found out I had become close with the Ishan people. He often would take out his frustrations out on Birdface. That particular day, after he was finished with Birdface, he turned his attention toward me. Birdface and I had become close. We would take care of each other since I was a child. So he protected me and ended our nightmare. He is more family to me than anyone. Even my blood.~ Queen Chûndra

CONCRETE

As I walked downstairs today, I noticed Violet watching me. I’ve allowed her genetically modified bugs to give her a certain amount of power. I really don’t mind others having power – as long as I can control it. I still have to keep her on a short leash.

She’s been comforting me, recently. It has given me a measure of solace, but it also disturbs me. It reminds me of the fact that she isn’t fully under the Vapor’s influence. But don’t be confused; she is still completely under my influence.  Kind specimen….I’ve given her the gift of a bioengineered body that took me years to develop. She is the first. If some of you are fortunate, you could be next. Everyone needs a purpose. I have plans that make room for all. There are positive aspects to being cold as concrete. Chemical love is underrated. Relationships are much simpler and people, more useful. I used to receive comfort from Kalese, but now Violet is making herself a decent substitute.
